From the President

Welcome to IASFAA! I am Matt Falduto, and I have the honor of serving as the 2023-24 IASFAA President.

IASFAA’s mission is to support financial aid professionals by providing networking, professional development, and leadership opportunities that reflect the diversity of our membership. We know this year will be a challenging one with all of the changes that are coming with FAFSA Simplification. To that end, we are offering two conferences and will remain focused on professional development to ensure our members are ready for the Student Aid Index (SAI) and the 2024-25 FAFSA.

This community has a long history of supporting one another and I am confident that we will weather the stormy sea of change together and emerge stronger and ready for the challenges ahead. If you’ve considered IASFAA Membership in the past, but have never made the plunge, I encourage you to join us. This is the perfect time to join your boat to our financial aid armada.

Perhaps you’ve been a member for a while, but haven’t gotten too involved, maybe just come to a conference or two. I encourage you to join a committee. Committee work allows us to give back to the organization from which we all benefit. It’s also a chance to network and make friends who will be there for you when you can’t remember which assets are counted in the new SAI calculation. There are many great committees to be a part of and we cannot do the important work of our association without volunteers.

Matt Falduto
2023-2024 IASFAA President
